High Interest Coverage Stocks
Companies earning operating profit more than 10 times their interest expense, market cap above $300 million. This is a free, ready-made stock screen on DeltaScreener that filters 5,000+ NYSE & NASDAQ stocks in real time. Stocks appear here only because they match the filters in the search query below; the screen name is a label for those criteria, not a rating of any stock. Click any company to see its full financials, or edit the filters to make the screen your own.
Interest coverage divides operating earnings by interest expense. A ratio above 10 means a company could pay its interest bill ten times over from current profits, leaving a wide cushion if earnings fall. This screen lists companies worth more than $300 million that clear that threshold. Credit analysts and income investors watch the ratio because it shows how comfortably debt is serviced. Companies with almost no debt can show extremely high values, and a single strong year can flatter the figure.
